Mixed Fiber uses a variety of Fiber/Fabric techniques in combination for the creation of the artwork. Any or all of these techniques can used such as: weaving, stitching, paper / felting, quilting, wrapping, and needlework.

One form of mixed fiber is paper assemblage. Paper assemblage is the use of a variety of hand or machine made papers assembled into a pattern or subject oriented design. The paper may be embellished using paint, ink, gold leaf, beads, string, crystals, or anything the imagination may conjure.
Papermaking is the process of making paper, a substance which is used universally today for writing, artistic expression, and packaging.  Artists will incorporate these homemade papers into their two- and three-dimensional artworks.
